Josh Edgin was transferred from the Savannah roster to the St. Lucie roster. He is travelling and will be active tomorrow (6/16).
Jet Butler was transferred from the Brooklyn roster to the Savannah roster.
SS/2B Robbie Shields hit .274/.354/.425 (AVG/OBP/SLG) in 226 AB for Savannah in 2011 and was tied for the League lead in doubles (20).
Closer Josh Edgin had converted 12 straight save opportunities, and was tied for SAL lead in saves (16). At the time of his promotion, Edgin had allowed the fewest baserunners per 9 IP of any SAL reliever (6.97/9 IP), had the third-highest strikeout rate (11.90 K/9 IP) and had the second-lowest batting average against (.135) among relievers. Edgin had not allowed a run in his last 16 appearances nor an earned run since April 26, a span of 18 appearances.
Jet Butler played first, second, third, shortstop and right field over 40 games with the Sand Gnats in 2010.
