TCU junior
catcher Josh Elander was named first-team
Capital One Academic All-District VII. The honor is the first for the Elander.
He will advance to the All-American ballot. Elander boasts a 3.42 GPA as a communications
major. He ranks second on the team with a .317 batting average and 29 RBIs.
Elander leads the squad with six home runs, 11 stolen bases and 28 walks. The
juniors is the only Horned Frog to have played in and started all 42 games this
season - link

SP Lucas Giolito threw on Thursday, his pitch attempt
since March 6th. It was on flat ground and only around 30 feet in
distance. It’s just the beginning of a rehab program that will take him up to
the draft in June. He never had to have surgery but a strain in his UCL is
nothing to shrug off either. No one talks draft in this family. Mention the
draft and they tell you about UCLA. My guess is he will be picked somewhere in
the 6-10 pick and skipping college isn’t etched in stone. Draft day is also his
mother’s birthday… gonna be some champagne flowing that day!
