Rosenbaum Hands B-Mets 2-1 Loss


BINGHAMTON,NY – Harrisburg Senators starter Danny Rosenbaum faced two over the minimum enroute to a 2-1 complete game victory over the B-Mets Saturday afternoon atNYSEG Stadium. It was the southpaw’s league-leading second complete game.

TheB-Mets managed just five hits against the current Eastern League ERA leader, bouncedinto three double plays and had one caught stealing, resulting in a season-lowone left on base.

Harrisburgpacked their offense into the fourth. After three scoreless innings, B-Metsstarter Darin Gorski fell into trouble in the fourth. He walked leadoff hitterDestin Hood and surrendered a single to Chris Rahl. An attempted pickoff throwto second sailed into center, allowing both runners to advance.

Withrunners at second and third, Sandy Leon plated Harrisburg’s first run with agroundout to second and Jose Lozada collected his fifth RBI of the year with asingle to left.

Itwas the only runs allowed by the lefty in the game. Gorski (2-1) finished aftersix innings. He allowed two runs (one earned) on four hits while striking outfour in the losing effort.

Binghamtonscored their only run against Rosenbaum in the sixth. Oswaldo Navarro walked tostart the inning. The walk extended Navarro’s on-base streak to 10 consecutiveplate appearances. After a pair of groundouts, Pedro Zapata ripped a double toleft to bring Navarro home.

TheB-Mets had singles in the seventh and eighth innings that were quickly erasedby double plays. Rosenbaum (4-0) turned them down in order in the ninth to caphis stellar 109-pitch day. He walked just one and struck out five in his fourthwin.
