Hi Mack, Always love reading blogs the morning after a win and last nite Harvey was wonderful. I'm trying to contain my excitement and wait for a few more months but what the hell a game like last nite deserves cheers and here's hoping your right about the farm crop we have to follow him up. I was wondering about a few minor leaguers to see what you think. Logan Taylor is an interesting one and also Alonzo Harris and if there's any possibility he could see CF sometime this year. I love Matt den Decker but the injury will put him back many months and Harris also has base stealing ability. On another front I agree with you that Buck could be a great trade piece come July but I'd hate to lose him. I know he wont keep this up but its not only his offense but the starters certainly have benefited from his game calling. It really goes to just how dreadful our catching has been since LoDuca. Feel better and see you soon, Gary Seagren

Harris is nothing more than a very good minor league player. I see him settling in as a AAAA outfielder in Las Vegas until hi commitment to the Mets come to an end. He does a lot of things very good but nothing great. I'm not slamming him. I'm just saying what I feel. Sort of a T.J. Rivera in the outfield.
Taylor may be different. Taylor was a 11th round pick out of somewhere called Eastern Oklahoma State Junior College. He's 6-5 and sits 90-94. His go-to is a high 70-s 12-6 curve and the fact that he went to a junior college has nothing to do with his talent. He also has a low-80s change-up. I like this kid very much and he could be the steal of the draft. He just needs to work on his command which, so far, seems under control.
That being said never over-evaluate players in A-ball. Think Mark Cohoon

I think we have to appreciate Buck's time with the Mets for what it is. He's a free agent at the end of the year and will likely price him out of the Mets' range for a back-up. TDA is the soon-to-be present and future for this club. Hopefullynthe two can overlap for a few weeks or even a month so Buck can mentor the kid before he's shipped off to a contender.
