Starter Rainy Lara (W, 3-1) pitched a gem, limiting the Power (tee hee) to 5 singles without a walk, over 7.1 scoreless innings. He struck out 9 along the way
Bret Mitchell (S, 2) earned his 2nd save with 1.2 innings, allowing only 1 hit, with 2 strikeouts. Neither Savannah pitcher walked a batter.
Phillip Evans (1-3) now hitting .187, knocked in the winning run, which was scored by Stefan Sabol (1-3) who is hitting .159.
Jayce Boyd was blanked at the plate in 3 Abs, lowering his avg. to .405..
Kevin Plawecki (2-3) raised his avg. to an even .400 with his 2 hits.
Once again, the Gnats did not generate much offense, but with the kind of pitching they got from Lara and Mitchell, it was all they needed.
St Lucie (14-8) crushes Bradenton (7-15) 13-5
Starter Marcos Camarena lasted only 3.2 innings, getting tagged for 5 ER on 6 H, (one a HR) 2 BB, with 2 K.
He was picked up by relievers Estarlin Morel, (W, 2-2) Randy Fontanez, and Wanel Mesa, who pitched the final 5.1 innings, holding the Marauders scoreless, with 4 H, 4 BB, and 4 K. Mesa pitched a perfect 9th inning in a non-save situation.

Only one night removed from a dismal 4 hit performance, the Binghamton offense came alive, pounding out 7 runs on 13 hits against Aero’s starter Matt Packer (L, 0-3) and reliever Cole Cook.
Logan Verrett (W, 4-0) was outstanding over 8.0 innings, allowing 2 ER on 2 H, 1 BB and 8 K’s. John Church pitched a hitless 9th, allowing only a walk.
After taking the dreaded Golden Sombrero, striking out 4 times last night, Blake Forsythe, atoned by going 2-4 with a double, 3 RBI and 1 R scored.

Kirk Nieuwenhuis and Andrew Brown have each hit solo home runs for the 51’s only scores. They are both 1 for 3 for the night at this time.
After a shaky start, where he gave up 5 runs, all earned, in the 1st inning, starter Collin McHugh settled down and held the Rainiers scoreless over the next 6 innings.
