Mets Minor League Report – April 22

St. Lucie (12-6) edges Charlotte (7-11) 2-1
Marcos Camerena struggled through 4.2 innings, with a man in scoring position in every inning he pitched. He was removed after the Stone Crabs had tied the score at 1 with two out in the 5th inning. He allowed that one run on 5 H, 3 BB, with 2 K.
Randy Fontanez (2-0) was awarded the win after getting the final out in the 5th and then going 2 more scoreless innings, with 1 H while striking out 2. T.J. Chism notched his 2nd save with 2 scoreless innings, allowing 1 hit and 1 BB.
T.J. Rivera provided the offense, going 2-4 with both hits accounting for the Mets only 2RBI of the day.

Portland (10-7) routs Binghamton (10-8) 8-2
Mets starter Jacob deGrom did not have everything going for him. Although only 1 of the 6 runs he allowed was earned, he gave up 7 hits and 4 walks while striking out 3.
Chase Hutchingson  didn’t fare much better, allowing 2 unearned runs on 2 hits and a walk in his inning of work.
Shawn Teufel struck out the side in his inning, allowing one hit. John Church finished the game with a scoreless 9th, allowing 2 hits.
Francisco Pena went 2-4, scoring one of the Mets runs. Blake Forsythe scored the other Mets’ run while going hitless, getting on base with a walk. Both Pena and Forsythe scored on Danny Muno’s 2 RBI single in the 7th inning.
St Lucie committed 5 errors, 2 by Alonzo Harris, and one each by Muno, Vaughn and Ceciliani.

Las Vegas (10-8) @ Colorado Springs (10-7) postponed - cold.
Perhaps we needed this umpiring crew in Denver last week.
