51s vs. Sky Sox: The Las Vegas 51s professional baseball team will face the Colorado Springs Sky Sox, Triple-A affiliate of the Colorado Rockies, tonight in game three of the four-game series in Pacific Coast League action at Security Service Field (8,500)…Las Vegas is 1-1 on the brief four-game road trip…the series against the Sky Sox will conclude tomorrow evening…the first scheduled off day for the PCL is Wednesday, April 24…Las Vegas will then return to Cashman Field for a four-game homestand
against the Tacoma Rainiers, Triple-A affiliate of the Seattle Mariners, from Thursday-Sunday, April 25-28.
Colorado Springs defeats Las Vegas 8-7 to even series: The Sky Sox defeated the 51s 8-7 on Sunday
afternoon in game two of the four-game series before a crowd of 4,599 at Security Service Field.
Las Vegas offense: The 51s recorded 12 hits and scored three runs in the seventh inning to lead 7-6. Left fielder Jamie Hoffmann was 2-for-4, double, 3 RBI; third baseman Zach Lutz was 2-for-4, walk, RBI, run scored; right fielder Andrew Brown was 2-for-5, RBI, run scored and center fielder Juan Lagares was 1-for-5 with a lead-off home run.
Colorado Springs offense: The Sky Sox recorded 20 hits and rallied for two runs in the ninth inning. Left fielder Tyler Colvin (2-for-5) delivered a walk-off, two-run single. Right fielder Tim Wheeler and shortstop DJ LeMahieu were each 3-for-5 and third baseman Nolan Arenado (2 RBI) and catcher Matt McBride were each 3-for-4.
Las Vegas pitching: Right-hander Collin McHugh pitched 5.1 innings in the no decision. He allowed 13 hits, 4 runs, issued no walks and struck out 3.
