Gary Seagren to me:
Hi Mack, As always nice talking to you yesterday. A few thoughts going forward...saw a post that said Matt Reynolds stat line was good but he needed to hit for more power to make a jump to Bingo. If he can really handle SS defensively power shouldn't be that much of an issue. Wheeler's outing though iffy still should have him moving up to the show soon. He was throwing 95-98 according to reports and I'm now starting to wonder like Cerrone if he just needs to get out of Vegas and lets see what he's got. Harvey's stats weren't great in Buffalo either not to say he's Harvey but a year ago they all were talking about Zach being the best one of the two. The Times had a piece on Rob Kaminsky a few weeks back and was wondering about your thoughts on him. Have a great weekend and Lets Go Mets, Gary Seagren
Mack: Thanks for the questions. Matt Reynolds is a very capably infielder at multiple positions. He doesn't project out as a big time hitter, but he could develop into a good utility guy, especially in late innings when defense is extremely important. Here's the good news about all the bad news right now regarding Zack Wheeler. He's striking out 27% of the batters he has faced. The talent is there but he's either pitching in the skinny air of Las Vegas or snowstorms on the road. I agree with Cerrone. He couldn't do worse in Queens. Kaminsky would be a great pick at #48. He's a lw 90s guy who goes late into the game. |
