Hadlock Field  Portland, ME  6:00 PM

LAST GAME: The B-Mets pounded out 13 hits and took advantage of a season-high eleven walks to defeat New Hampshire, 15-2. Allan Dykstra and Danny Muno each drove in three runs as the B-Mets matched a season-high with fifteen runs scored. Alonzo Harris led the day with four singles, and Cory Vaughn tallied three hits. Eight different B-Mets touched home in the win. Facing Deck McGuire for the second time in less than two weeks, the B-Mets wasted little time grabbing the lead. They played two runs on two RBI groundouts by Dykstra and Vaughn in the first, and then added to the lead with a Harris RBI single in the second. Ricardo Nanita homered in the fourth, but Binghamton kept the offense going. They scored five runs in the fifth inning, sending 11 men to the plate to take an 8-1 lead. They put four more runs on in the sixth, and took advantage of Fisher Cat errors and walks in the process. The Binghamton bullpen did their job in the last 4.0 innings as the B-Mets continued to extend their lead.

BINGHAMTON STARTING PITCHER: RHP Jacob DeGrom makes his second career Double-A start for Binghamton. After being promoted from St. Lucie, he was stellar in his debut on 4/17 against Portland. Unfortunately he was tagged with the loss, although he only gave up one run on eight innings in an eventual 1-0 shutout loss to Portland. He surrendered just three hits, struck out eight, and only walked one. Before being promoted, DeGrom was 1-0 in two starts with St. Lucie. In 12.0 innings with the St. Lucie Mets, he allowed four runs  and struck out 13. He was drafted in the ninth round of the 2010 draft by the Mets out of Stetson University.

PORTLAND STARTING PITCHER: RHP John Lackey will be making a rehab start with the Sea Dogs tonight. The Boston Red Sox starter suffered a strained right bicep in his first start of the season against the Toronto Blue Jays on April 6. Lackey, now in his fourth season with the Red Sox, missed the entire 2012 season while recovering from Tommy John surgery. Lackey spent the first 11 years of his professional career with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, making 233 starts at the Big League level with the Angels. He won a World Championship with the team in 2002, his first year in the Major Leagues. Lackey has not pitched at the Double-A Level since he was a member of the Arkansas Travelers in 2001. He pitched in the Eastern League in 200 with the Erie SeaWolves when they were still an Angels affiliate.

HARRIS STEALING BAGS:  Alonzo Harris stole a season-high three bases yesterday, becoming the first B-Met to steal three bases in a game since Lorenzo Scott stole three against the Akron Aeros on 4/8/11.

SCORELESS STREAK: Before Ricardo Nanita’s solo home run in the fourth inning yesterday, B-Met pitching had held the Fisher Cats scoreless for the last 15 innings of play.

RODRIGUEZ TAKES BALL FOUR: Josh Rodriguez was awarded four walks yesterday. He is the first B-Met to do so since Eric Cambell accomplished feat against New Hampshire 5/7/11. In 2013, Rodriguez has drawn a team-high 13 walks. He is tied for third in the league in that category. As a team, Binghamton has drawn 63 walks, which ranks them ninth in the league.

HITS ON HITS: Binghamton tallied 13 hits during their 15-2 win over New Hampshire yesterday. That was the seventh game of the season where the B-Mets have put up double-digit hit numbers. Their season-high came on 4/6 at AKR when Binghamton got 14 base knocks.

NEXT GAME PREVIEW: Binghamton continues their road trip against the Portland Sea Dogs Tuesday night. The B-Mets will send Tyler Pill to the mound against rehabber Craig Breslow for the Sea Dogs. First pitch is set for 6:00 PM with the Horizons Federal Credit Union Pregame Show set for 5:45 PM.
