You can just imagine what the NY Media would be saying if Kershaw was a Met or Yankee.

You guys HAVE to check out the article on Travis d’Arnaud in The Athletic. It’s an eye opener on how much pressure that kid was under in New York and what truly good batting coaches mean.

Matz is better than alot of lefties starting, but he needs to get away from his friends and family.

John From Albany said...

Thanks Gus. Change of Scenery helped Travis, it could help Matz as well. Mets would be selling low on Matz though and not get much back.

Gus, every aspect of a player counts. If he cannot be effective around friends and family, then he needs to be traded away from them, unless they are all willing to leave.

I will check out the Athletic article on TDA. But I will say this...giving him another month to get into a groove before dumping him was the right thing to do.

Tom, BVW is a case study on the wrong thing to do. From tendering him to begin with, to dumping him after a month for no reason, to not bringing Mesoraco to the majors. Van Wagenen is the Wilpon’s final screw up, and it was meant to be memorable.

And he fired Fonzie.

Gus, BVW did good things with the draft, otherwise not much good and plenty not good.
