NY Times: Black Players Continued a Mentoring Tradition Amid a Pandemic. Curtis Granderson and other “veteran African-American M.L.B. players got on Instagram and set up Zoom calls to pay forward the guidance they received…including Mets’ draftee Isaiah Greene talked to Dominic Smith, a current Mets first baseman and outfielder, and CC Sabathia, a longtime Yankees pitcher who retired last year.”

Andy Martino SNY.TV: Spokesperson: Mayor Bill de Blasio still 'evaluating' Mets sale to Steve Cohen. If this evaluation stretches into next week, it could delay the vote among MLB owners on whether to approve Cohen.  “MLB officials do not believe that de Blasio will kill the deal, but the situation is causing some consternation among those who want it to close as soon as possible. Executives involved in the sale have been working to figure out how to convince de Blasio to move forward.”

Metsmerized Online: Steve Cohen Anxious To See Fans At Citi Field. ”A source also said that Cohen is itching at the bit to assume full control of the Mets.”

Mike’s Mets talks about the Dodgers as a potential model for the Mets in “Looking for a Roadmap”.

Reflections on Baseball: No Team In MLB Has Gone Longer Without A Gold Glove- Meaning? “More significantly, fielding…is not “sexy” in baseball today. Players don’t get paid by their fielding production – power is king. Nevertheless, you’ve gotta catch and throw the ball accurately to win games. It goes without saying fielding is an area the Mets need to concentrate on more, but will they?”

Jason Fry Faith and Fear in Flushing continues their Mets For All Seasons with Noah Syndergaard in 2018 – “The Model of a Modern Pitcher.”

SNY.TV: 5 under the radar free agents Mets could target this offseason. James McCann and Keone Kela are among those who could be solid additions. The other three mentioned are James Paxton, Jose Alvarez, and Taijuan Walker.

Rising Apple: Three Mets roster decision no-brainers to make this winter.  “Mets must sign a top free agent starting pitcher, should probably trade for another”; “Mets must not pick up Wilson Ramos’ option”; “Mets must find a way to get Dominic Smith regular at-bats”.

Arozarena hits another Aroza Rocket. Wow.

Francisco Alvarez looking real good in that video.

Did you notice that the Yanks' top prospect is the guy they signed for $5.1 million in the last signing period? Yet to play, and already ranked their top prospect. Some clubs know how to come up with stars.

Speaking of Justin Turner, despite a slow offseason this year, in 69 games and 302 post-season plate appearances (all with the Dodgers, none with the Mets), he is a hefty .293/.394/.500 hitting against the best. I wonder how much post season money he will have earned by the end of these playoffs in his career? It's good $$$ to be a Dodger

Was non-tendering Justin Turner Sandy's call or someone else's. Guess we will find out.

Maybe imkverestimating Sandy Alderson, but he doesn’t appear tome to be a person that will call a player “lazy” and cut him. If he were to do that, Ruben Tejada was the poster boy for that and he’d be gone. But, Turner was released under Alderson’s regime and before Marlon Byrd could teach Turner how to hit better.

Sorry, that was me, and I started by say maybe I’m overestimating Sand Alderson, but he doesn’t appear to me to be a person that call a player “lazy” and cut him.
