It takes little sense of objectivity to admit that since the mid-90s, with a few rare exceptions, the Yankees have lorded it over the Mets in Gotham.
The Mets, proverbially, have been the 98 pound weaklings getting sand kicked in their faces by Charles Atlas, the bully in pin stripes, who in this case is a muscular, pockets-bulging-with-cash Bronx Bad Boy.
Steve Cohen, though, has the Mets' 98 pounder up to 195 pounds of lean, glistening muscle (Pete Alonso just told me the right number is 240).
But are the Mets good enough to own the town in 2021?
I darn well think so.
Great hitting - even without some guy named Springer.
Great starting pitching - even without Twitter Bauer.
Solid, deep bullpen - even without that man Hand.
The Yankees are good, no doubt. Always seem to be.
But ask me which team will be better in 2021?
Go ahead, ask me. Go on...
It's the Mets - and no one is kicking sand in our faces in 2021.
The Mets are winning the division this year.
Put it in the books.
But not just that - like Rambo said to Murdock in Rambo II, after Murdock did him dirty, "Murdock....I'm coming for you." Murdock no doubt plotzed his pants at that moment.
Likewise, the Mets are coming for the Yanks in 2021. That soil on the Yankee trousers won't be infield dirt. Please don't squeeze the Charmin, fellas.
Those trouser smears will be the results of fear. 'Cause there's a new Rambo in town. You'll find him in Queens, starting next week. Kicking sand at The Bronx Bad Boys. And everyone else. Lots of it.

Oh, well.
WE WILL OWN IT or die trying! LGM!
Gary, this is our year to thump our chests and ROAR!
With this offense, and if Edwin is in beast mode, for instance, I want a min. of 18 wins from Jake - 20 would be awesome.
THINK BIG!
Winners win.
He who wins... wins.
