3-21-21 - I am not sure if baseball has ever seen two college teammate pitchers like Vanderbilt’s Kumar Rocker and Jack Leiter.
Rocker has been basically hitless all season and yet he may be only be the second best pitcher in The Vandy Boys rotation.

Let me introduce you to Indiana RHP McCade Brown. He's been the best pitcher in the country this season and he's well-positioned to go in the first round come July

McCade Brown decided to take his unused bullets to the Kernels Collegiate League this past summer where he hoped to sharpen his arsenal. He dominated the opposition to the tune of a 0.93 ERA, allowing just five hits, walking 11 and striking out an astonishing 50 batters in just 22.1 innings. Brown recorded 67 outs this summer. 75 percent of them were strikeouts. And yeah, sure, walking eleven batters in 22+ innings still isn’t great, but it’s marked progress.
Not only were the results encouraging, the stuff was peaking too. Brown was up to 97, and his good slider was now being complimented with a very good 12-6 curveball. The latter comfortably a plus offering. Brown already had a changeup in his back pocket too.

So far this season, we have all missed on this guy.
He’s currently throwing up numbers of a worthy first round pick.
Conservatively, I have him at #50.

Wisconsin native Alex Binelas with his first home run of the season. Binelas has struggled early this season but maybe this will be the turning point. He is a top 2021 draft prospect.

3-12-21 - royals review -
Since the summer, Sal Frelick started to take his game to the next level. Ticketed to play in the Cape Cod League, he had to take his game back to the Futures League after Covid shutdown the Cape season. He started the season there with a 17 game hitting streak which helped him put up a season line of .398/.473/.592 with three home runs in 24 games. Those numbers earned him League Top Prospect honors while showing a power uptick. That power has carried over to the college season with four home runs in his first 11 games after hitting just six in his first 54. His home run on Sunday against Auburn tied up the game after BC had started the inning trailing 9-1, eventually helping his team secure a series victory over the SEC school.
That power was the last aspect of the game that he needed. Now he looks like the full package with a gamer’s mentality, speed, power, and instincts. Before the season, the #7 pick may have been a stretch for Frelick, but if he continues as he has early in the season, the Royals could be lucky if he gets there.

3-12-21 - Mets Pick in Mock Draft-
10. New York Mets: Ty Madden, RHP, Texas
Madden has made notable strides in his development in his first 2½ years at Texas. He has the size and diverse repertoire of pitches to thrive as a starter in pro ball. He also has improved his command and control in his time at Texas.
Right now, my tip three picks for the Mets at 1.10:
1. RHP Andrew Painter
2. Madden
3. C Henry Davis
3-12-21 - top 50 HS players -
48. Pico Kohn, LHP, Chilton County HS, Clanton, Ala.
A tall and slender 6'5", 205-pound lefty, Kohn rarely exceeds 90 mph right now, but there's reason to think he could add significant velocity thanks to his frame and athleticism, and he flashes a plus breaking ball. He's a Mississippi State signee.

UCONN RHP Ben Casperius probably going to be a name called reasonably early in July. Really loose, whippy arm on the mound. Commands the FB 91-95 well glove and arm-side w/run. Flashes a really good tumbling changeup. Slider is tight with depth. Bulldog mentality.

3-12-21 - top hitters in draft -
#13. Brady House, SS
Committed to the University of Tennessee as an 18-year-old prep star, House entered this past summer as the top high school prospect in the upcoming draft. He has an unusual build for a shortstop (6-3, 215 pounds), but his size helps create some exciting offensive tools as scouts see him developing 70-grade power (as a shortstop!). On defense, the potential is just as high, where House reportedly hit 96 MPH on the mound, suggesting he definitely has plenty of arm strength to hold down the shortstop position, or even man the hot corner where evaluators say his hands, reaction and body control are all above-average as well. I haven’t seen House play, but of the hitters listed here, he’s the guy that appears to possess the highest ceiling.
