The Future OF: RP
First, you have to determine who will be back next year in the Queens pen.
Pedro Feliciano is a keeper in my bullpen until he falls over and dies.
Bobby Parnell and Francisco Rodriquez will also be back.
The rest is sort of up in the air.
Who won’t be back is Billy Wagner and J.J. Putz. Combined, they represent $18,100,000 that can be used for an SP, C, or OFer in the off-season.
The future Mets pen will most probably come from today’s starters in the system. This is how Parnell found a home in Queens, and I’d look for guys like Tobi Stoner, Mike Antonini, Eric Neisen, Scott Shaw, Dillon Gee, and Dylan Owen to be considered for these positions.
Your September call up will be Roy Merritt and I project him as part of the 2010 pen.
2010 possiblities will also include players named Edgar Ramirez, Jimmy Johnson, and Emary Frederick.
Beyond that, it’s impossible to figure out the mind of Omar & Co. when it comes to this position.
