B-Mets lose Two

There was lots of player movement today, including two strange ones. SPs Ryan Coultas and Eric Neisen were sent from Binghamton to rookie-Kingsport. Makes no sense on paper and screams of an upcoming trade. Coutlas is 27 and Neisen is well past this level. I have a funny feeling this story isn’t done.

Sunday wasn’t a good Met day.

Binhamgton lost two, 9-3 and 3-0.

Let’s talk about some positives:

1B Lucas Duda went 2-2 for in the first game and got his batting average up to .282. In the long run, Duda needs to play on a team without Nick Evans on it so the Mets can determine if he has the right stuff. I remember when he first went to Brooklyn and many of the young pitchers said he had the sweetest swing they had ever seen. Frankly, I’m not thrilled with his .409 slugging percentage, because the Mets would want more out of tat position. Duda will move to Buffalo for the 2010 season, and then…

SS prospect, 19-year old Ruben Tejada went 2-3, double in the first game. His BA got to .288 after the first game.

It was great to see P Jake Ruckle back. He’s always had a special place in the Mack household, and he pitched 3.1 scoreless innings in the first game.

Another “friend of Mack” RP Emary Frederick, also had his first outing at AA, pitching in a scorelss 0.1 inning. Good wok guys.

RP Connor Robertson, who was demoted from AAA earlier this week, pitched 2.0 scoreless innings in the second game.
