Travis Blackley, Escobar's Return, Chris Carter... and Bay.

Travis Blackley:

Travis Blackley is fighting for his baseball career, trying to overcome challenging odds to earn a spot on the Mets’ roster. He has not pitched in the major leagues since Sept. 29, 2007, and could probably use any possible edge to his advantage. But there is one thing he will not do, he said, even though he could.
Ten years ago Blackley, who is from Melbourne, Australia, was found to have attention deficit disorder and was given a prescription for Adderall, a psychostimulant that some believe has been abused by some baseball players as a way of sneaking performance-enhancing amphetamines into their bloodstream to boost energy levels during games - link

Escobar's Return:

His plan is to strengthen his shoulder by working with the physical therapist Chris Correnti, who has helped Johan Santana in his recovery from elbow surgery. Escobar hopes to play catch in about two weeks, and if he still feels pain, he will probably have a magnetic resonance imaging test to determine the extent of his injury. If it is determined he needs surgery, Escobar said he would have it, as long as the doctors tell him he could pitch again. But that would be his last attempt. “I will do it the right way and try it one more time,” he said.  - link

Chris Carter:

Chris Carter homered for the third straight Grapefruit League at-bat when he went deep in the first inning off Derek Lowe. "The Animal," as Manuel has tabbed him because of his early arrivals at camp and intense workouts, went 2-for-3 with a walk in the Mets' 7-6, 10-inning loss to the Braves. Carter, acquired from the Red Sox in the Billy Wagner trade, had a pair of ninth-inning homers Monday. Mike Jacobs and Frank Catalanotto are the favorites for the final bench spot for which Carter is vying.... link

Bay:

He didn't expect to get a chance to see many of his major league teammates in Port St. Lucie, but the Sox actually brought a bunch of starters on the trip. Bay stood and talked with teammates before the game, all of whom were clearly happy to see him. But it wasn't like Bay needed closure from his Sox tenure. "Once I signed, once I got here, I got integrated a little bit, it's kind of been closed for me for a while," he said. "I didn't really need the last good-bye. I've been traded numerous times. I've done a lot of this along the way. Boston just ended up being a stop along the way, albeit a very good one." - link
