Reese Havens:

8-11-11: - http://metsmerizedonline.com/2011/08/baseball-americas-mets-top-10-list-prior-to-2011-where-are-they-now.html   - 2B – Reese Havens: Another injury riddled season by the second baseman. He has a world of potential, but can not stay on the the field. With the injuries to Murphy, he may have had a shot to be playing in Flushing to finish this season had he not been behind the eight ball already. He is heating up lately, and could prompt a promotion to Triple-A before the year is out. Started 2011: Double-A Currently: Double-A

Fernando Martinez:

8-14-11: - http://espn.go.com/blog/new-york/mets/post/_/id/32042/projected-prospect-call-ups  - FERNANDO MARTINEZ, outfielder (.264, 8 HR, 30 RBI, 216 at-bats with Buffalo): The 22-year-old Martinez, who has battled injuries throughout his career, hit .227 with a homer and two RBIs in 22 at-bats, primarily in May, with the Mets. Martinez missed 10 games in April with a right hamstring strain and 14 games in July with a left hip flexor strain with Buffalo. He does have a minor league option remaining in 2012, so he does not have to make the Opening Day roster or be exposed to waivers next season.

Dustin Lawley:

8-14-11: - http://metsmerizedonline.com/2011/08/kingsport-mets-team-report-stretch-run-edition.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=twitter&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+MetsMerizedOnline-GetMetsmerized-NewYorkMets+%28Mets+Merized+Online%29&utm_content=Twitter  - Dustin Lawley - Drafted from the same West Florida program as Greg Pron in the 19th round of this year’s draft, the 6’1″ 195lb. Lawley has shown excellent versatility by playing all three OF positions and 3B for the K-Mets. He leads the team in 2B’s (15 which is good for 4th in the league), RBI’s (32), and is tied for first on the team in Total Bases (92), this year in 178 AB’s. He is second on the team in 3B’s (3), HR’s (6) and OPS (.847), and third on the team in Hits (53) and SLG (.517), and is hitting .298. Lawley is another athletic outfielder, drafted by the new regime, whose make-up and skills should translate well to Citifield someday, perhaps as Alex would say, “in 2014!” One thing is for certain, the competition for playing time in the Savannah outfield in 2012 will be very fierce.

Bobby Parnell:

8-16-11: - http://www.rotoworld.com/headlines/mlb/337653/baseball-headlines?r=1  - Bobby Parnell will begin the transition to closer. The Mets gave most of their save opportunities to Jason Isringhausen over the past month so that Izzy could climb to 300 career saves. Now that the milestone has been met, it's Parnell's turn to take over. The 26-year-old has registered a 49/17 K/BB ratio in 39 2/3 innings this season and needs to be owned in mixed fantasy leagues.

Shelby Miller:

Springfield righthander Shelby Miller, the crown jewel of the Cardinals' farm system as the team's top pick in the 2009 draft, has been suspended indefinitely by the organization, Cardinals general manager John Mozeliak said Tuesday night. Mozeliak said Miller had been suspended for a "violation of team policy." Without amplification, Mozeliak said the incident in question had occurred last week. - Read more: http://www.stltoday.com/sports/baseball/professional/article_261b2aac-b97e-5a24-9707-b3958b30c75b.html#ixzz1VIWboFPm
