The New York Mets play
in the largest market in the country, yet are able to spend the necessary
amount of money to field a competitive team. The purpose of this petition is to
require the current Mets owners to sell their team to someone who is
financially capable of creating a budget that can help to field a competitive
team. If the team is competitive, they will create more revenue, which will
only help the state of the franchise and the economy of New York City and Major
League Baseball.
