Yet they held onto a certain losing record manager for 7 years...

This is the normal time of the year that below the waterline players are released. A lot of this is determined during the Sept and Oct Instruct games that go on in Port St. Lucie.

The team must make room for promotions from other levels, 35-40 drafted players signed, the international guppies that cross the ocean, and even one or two un-drafted players (usually from NYC area schools).

Frankly, I have many many more on my list that I would cut.

So they have released about 30 players? It speaks volumes on the type of talent they are drafting.

Viper, I think most of the released are international signings; but drafting has been sub par, coupled with too many injuries to the better drafted players. I have a 9 part article series starting in about a week called DRAFT DUDS, I think you will find it interesting.

@Viper

Tom is correct.....every player released thus far has been either

A) a former International 16yr old Signing
B) an independent league/undrafted free agent signing
or C) a far back end MLB draft pick.....(no one higher than the 31st round)

In these 3 scenarios.....MLB teams are probably successful at finding legitimate talent only about 5% of the time anyway.
