I have been as hard on Sandy Alderson as anyone, but kudos to the man for finally doing something right. Good value. For comparison's sake, he's less than HALF the cost of Neil Walker last year.
Hell yes! I like Cabrera much better at 2B.........now, if they can swing a deal for Harrison, I love Cabrera, Reyes and Flores as the bulk of a talented bench and utility core.
I have never been part of the go get a 3rd baseman contingent, because I want Machado, but its hard to knock this. Who knows how the money breaks down, but the mets paid walker more for just last year.
Maybe now they can realize the Gonzalez was a waste of a roster spot and let dom smith have a little more leeway to win the job.
I havent really liked any of the off season moves, because i felt they blocked longer term options, but the prices are so low, its hard to argue with them.
Personally is still like pitching and defense over homeruns, but thats just the type of baseball i prefer.
I think Sandy now has enough p/r flex to sign Lynn if his price comes down a bit. Looks like we will have to live with a Lagares/Nimmo tandem in the leadoff spot, until Conforto returns to take over.
I still say that an upgrade in centerfield, a reliable, quality starting pitcher, and a leadoff hitter were/are much more important needs for the Mets than Bruce or Frazier.
I am still worried about Conforto's return to the form he showed last year.

Very good move and at this price hard to knock.
Very good for Met pitching and Rosario at SS. Left side infield defense could be among best in the league.
Wow 😮. Someone pinch me, did this really happen?
Reese?
Who was the guy that said the 2018 payroll would be the same or more than 2017?

Am I wrong still wanting mousse ? Maybe it’s because I’m starving ... good move either way

Sandy has seemed to capitalize on the combo of strike threats and deminished signings. Good wait out.
Things are looking up up up.
They’re looking straight at Jason Vargas.
O.K. Lynn and another lefty reliever and I'd feel MUCH better so almost there Sandy and good job.

Where are the "cheap Mets will do nothing this Winter and will lower payroll by $20mil" critics?
Lynn comes with QO baggage. Forget him.
Mighta been me😕

If you got this upgrade, which of Bruce, 4to and Yo would you get rid of to make room?
