Carlos Beltrán Featured on Top 10 Center Fielders of the Live Ball Era
January 11, 2020 – New York Mets center fielder Brandon Nimmo was ranked ninth on MLB Network’s annual Top 10 Center Fielders Right Now! program earlier tonight. Nimmo, who ranked sixth on last year’s countdown of right fielders, finished one spot ahead of the New York Yankees’ Brett Gardner and one spot behind the Yankees’ Aaron Hicks.
Hosted by MLB Network’s Brian Kenny alongside MLB Network analysts, each Top 10 Right Now! ranking considers player performance over the last two seasons, with an emphasis on 2019. Offensive, defensive and Statcast metrics, plus expert analysis by the MLB Network research team, are also taken into account when determining each ranking.

New Mets manager Carlos Beltrán ranked seventh on Kenny’s “Top 10 Center Fielders of the Live Ball Era” ranking, finishing one spot ahead of Bernie Williams and one spot behind Hall of Famer Duke Snider, and Beltrán ranked 10th on Russo’s center fielders list, finishing one spot behind Hall of Famer Earl Averill.

Impressive
Last year as their top 10 second basemen, they had Lowrie #2 and Cano #4. Too bad we never got to “enjoy” their opinions.
Same thing here: I don’t know how Bradleyisnt on this list. Can’t understand where Enciarde is. Kiermeier? We love Nimmo and all, but if he wasn’t a Met, would he be the one we want the Front Office to go get?
I said this before, you do not want to trade this guy much less for Marte. Ive always felt we Met fans see our players for less than they are, whereas Yankee fans see their players as better than they are. Thats about the vibe created by winning.
This is a winning player and I think this season hes going to reward our faith him.
I always compared Nimmo to a young Yelich. I believe the best is yet to come for Mr Nimmo. Hopefully it will be in the orange and blue
