Joining Núñez on the bench will be Luis Guillorme, per source. Both of those players are capable of manning second, third and short.

Sources: MLB and union are re-engaging on the possibility of expanded playoffs for this season. Has to be done before first pitch 25 hours from now, but there seems to be optimism. Hope was to go from 10 playoff teams to 16.

More mistreatment of MiLBers: Some MLB teams are not paying for housing for MiLB players in the 60-man pool. They also aren't paying salaries yet (just the $400/wk stipend). That means some MiLB players are losing money right now by being in that pool of players.

After rejecting a trade to the
Mets, 36 year-old Barry
Larkin agrees to a three-year, $27 million contract extension to continue
to play for the Reds. The deal will keep the former Rookie of the Year
(1986), NL's MVP (1995), and 11-time All-Star shortstop in Cincinnati until
2003.

For the first time in the 50-year
history of the franchise, the Mets compile a 50-50 won-loss record after
playing one hundred games. New York achieves the dubious distinction when
they lose in Florida, 8-5.

I read Stroman could miss several weeks. This team should find the snake that always bites it.
I wonder if a Dom Smith or JD Davis trade to get a quality starter might be possible. I'd hate to see them go...but...Don't trade any high picks please.
We very very lucky last year to avoid the SP injury bug...
I have no long term plan for any player this year, but, in a 60 game season, always play the hot hitter.
Start Dom for the first 3 games...
