Travis Jankowski - here's the facts, Jack:
He has a career .324 on base %, actually very decent for a back up.
$$$$$$ Lindor as a Met in 2021-22? One point higher at .325.
And TJ is a fine career .342 against just righties, which is who Buck should focus on using him against.
Also, in 1,183 career plate appearances, TJ has stolen 72 bases!
And he, I'm told, has no plans on giving back the stolen goods.
156 career runs scored. One every 7 PAs.
Defensively, he is a strong career plus.
Are you also glad he is a Met?
Lastly, do you think last night's amazing 7 run 9th inning rally from being down 7-1 to win is a turning point, and an exclamation point that 2022 won't be a replay of 2021?
And...since Edwin Diaz so dominantly protected that slim 9th inning lead, is he now perhaps the best closer in baseball?
And...should the rocked Taijuan Walker be jettisoned from the rotation and go to the pen, and leave the starting to Max, Bassitt, Cookie, the Meg, and Peterson?

I am DARNED glad we made that Diaz trade.
Kelenic is positively raking at .127. We all thought from the hype he'd be hitting .327.
And....Cano who? He can return for Old Timers Day.
Edwin's superb slider makes him almost unhittable.
Taijuan could be an elite starter - in Taiwan.
If it was my call, he'd be moved to the pen ASAP.
If all of Edwin's 558 career Ks had been as a Met, he'd be # 22 on their all-time K list. Pretty staggering to consider, since he only goes an inning at a time.
Walker needs either to be in the bullpen or included in a trade for another 5th-6th inning relief pitcher. The Mets have better starters than him.
Re: Janky
He would have been an outstanding pro starter if it wasn't for injuries.
He's finally both healthy and ours.
I love that he's here.
Jankowski at the very least is a keeper for the entire season on 26man.
Problem is, if one of the other 5 starters goes down and Jake is not back, AA and AAA starters are not a realistic source dor a starter.
If we only had a ss, Walker gives up no runs in the first.
The thing that makes Jankowski so valuable is Buck Showalter's ability to get everyone a role on this team. If Jankowski had to start every day in CF, his OBP and Avg would have dipped and then the pressure of the NY fans and media would have further repressed his performance. But on this team, and with Buck's "everyone contributes" approach, Jankowski has added tremendous value with late inning defense and timely pinch-running roles. He feels great because he is scoring runs and adding value, so he performs well when he's out there.
As for Walker, let's not give him the negative treatment. Yes, he was ineffective in his last start against Philly. But he also has had some good outings. We're going to need this guy when another injury pops up in the staff. I don't expect him to ever be as good as his 2021 first half, but he is a great athlete, has some good stuff, and just needs Hefner to fine tune him.
