NY Post: Brutal error by Wilmer Flores extends lifeless Mets skid. "Flores’ sixth error of the season sent Jacob deGrom’s night in the wrong direction and helped doom the Mets to their third straight loss, 8-2 to the Nationals at Citi Field. The defeat was the Mets’ first in 11 home games this season...DeGrom (L,2-3) had a second straight shaky outing, lasting just 5¹/₃ innings in which he allowed five runs, three earned, on five hits and two walks with four strikeouts. The right-hander allowed three home runs at Yankee Stadium last Friday and was the losing pitcher...Kevin Plawecki’s RBI double in the second gave the Mets a 1-0 lead before Curtis Granderson delivered a run-scoring single. Flores’ double with one out got the rally started."

I was in camp when Daniel Murphy was being converted to the position of second
Arrived particularly early one morning and took my every day walk around the complex to have two or three smokes
Saw some activity on one of the backfields and headed over there
It was Mets coaches hitting groundballs to Murph at second
No throws. Just grounder and roll balls off to the side (member of staff would gather them up into white buckets and bring them back to home late where the hitting was going on)
I must have watched 200-300 balls hit to him. Can't remember one flub.
Took some great shots standing next to a full time photographer for SNY. Michael Baron.
Good times
