Pedro P.Martinez – P
Martinez was signed as an international undrafted free agent in 2006.
He pitched very well for the DSL Mets in 2006, going 3-2, 1.82 in 13 games, nine of which he started. 2007 brought a visa and a promotion to Kingsport, where he struggled: 3-4, 5.52, 13-G, 5-starts.
He received another promotion in 2008, to Brooklyn, where he pitched well: 3-2, 3.63, in 15-starts, but he sat out the entire 2009 season due to arm troubles.
Martinez retured in 2010 and pitched for three Mets teams… Brooklyn, Savannah, and St. Lucie. Combined, he went 0-1, 3.60, in 12 relief appearances.
10-3-10: - 2011 Forecast: Many of us pundits have wondered when Martinez was signed if he would stay a Met past the time the team removed all ties to his uncle. He has held his own, but he’ll pitch 2011 as a 26-year old and he needs to get moving. One of two things are going to happen here. Either the Mets will pitch him next spring at St. Lucie, or will cut him before ST.
