Nick
Banks,
OF, Tomball HS (TX) - A great athlete, as well as vocal leader, the 6’-2”,
200-pound left-hander has a sweet swing and an advanced approach at the plate.
Over 20 games this season, he is hitting .550 with 14 extra-base hits and six
stolen bases. He has drawn nine walks to just five strikeouts for a .620
OBP/.950 SLG. More of a line drive hitter, he does have some pop in his bat and
could develop more. He has been clocked at 6.85 in the 60, and his arm has been
clocked at 90 mph from the outfield, showing the ability to remain at
centerfield at the next level. He is considered a second/third-round type of
player and is committed to Texas A&M. LINK

As you can see
just looking at the picture, Hunter Dozier is a
big kid and will end up at third base in professional baseball. But that
doesn't take away from his increased status heading into the draft. Dozier's
swing is long, which could give him problems against velocity on the inner half
of the plate as he moves up the ladder, but he manages to make it work thanks
to plus bat speed. He also has good loft in his follow through and projects to
have above-average power. LINK

Just talked to an
opposing pitching coach about D.J. Peterson.
"I just don't know how you pitch to him. He hits everything."
The tall, rangy
Texan walked into one of the dugouts at Perfect Game Field Monday morning and
leaned against the fence that protects the dugout’s occupants from any errant
balls. Casey Meisner, a 6-foot-7, 185-pound
right-handed pitcher who is completing his senior year at Cypress Woods High
School in Cypress, Texas, was settling into his element. Meisner was at
Veterans Memorial Stadium on Monday for the 15th annual Perfect Game Pre-Draft
Showcase, an event that attracted nearly 50 draft eligible prospects all
looking for another opportunity to perform in front of the MLB scouting
community before the First-Year Player Draft, which begins this year on June 6.
