3. Elijah Green
Outfield, IMG Academy
One of the most exciting players in the country, Green is a do-it-all, powder-keg package of explosivity and bottled energy on the baseball diamond. Already 6-foot-3, 215 pounds, he’s a physical specimen built different than his colleagues. Simply put, there’s not much Green cannot do. At this stage, Green might be the best prep prospect the MLB Draft has seen in quite some time. Some evaluators believe he could be a plus hitter with plus-plus raw power, and he’s already tapping into that juice in-game. He’s currently at least a 70-runner with a 70-arm as well. There can be some swing and miss in his game, and that’s a huge part of prospect evaluation, so it’ll be something scouts are keeping a close eye on. There aren’t too many warts in his game. Green is a very special talent and teams will covet his services in the draft.

Is Elijah Green clear number one? Is he a generational talent ?
Joe Doyle -
Let’s start with just how talented Green is because I think that sets the table. Physically, Green is one of the most tooled-up players we’ve ever seen. His scouting report is smattered with 70s and 80s. It’s plus-plus raw power with plus-plus run times. He’s got at least a plus-plus arm in the outfield and he plays a very strong outfield as well. The pure hit tool is about the only question scouts still have on Green. He’s exhibited some swing-and-miss over the summer, but not so much that it’s deflated any of his helium. World Wood Bat Championships, as well as his spring season in 2022 will be important.
As for where he fits in the 2022 draft, he’s certainly in the conversation for the no. 1 overall pick, but personally, I wouldn’t call any one player the “favorite” to go first overall right now. Even if the narrative currently suggests he’s the guy, keep in mind over the last several years, the presumptive favorite to go first overall hasn’t taken the title wire-to-wire.
Mack's spin -
I think Joe knows much more about these things than I do, but I also think he is being conservative here.
Somebody has to be #1 and I don't see anyone challenging Greene here.

Maryland Terrapins
Maryland finished last year right behind the Cornhuskers in second place of the Big Ten with a 28-16 record.
Unlike Nebraska, though, Maryland was unable to sweep its three game series against the Nittany Lions, winning two of three. However, in its two victories, Maryland outscored Penn State 26-11.
Infielders Matthew Shaw and Maxwell Costes finished last season as two of the Terrapins’ best hitters and return for the 2022 campaign. Both players hit over .300 and combined for 12 home runs and 21 doubles last season.
The Terrapins were on a tear at the end of the regular season, winning six series in a row with half of them being sweeps. With the potential to put up runs quickly, a younger Nittany Lions pitching staff could face problems against this high-powered offense.

142 Andrew Mosiello
RHP
Oregon
Temicula, CA Mosiello really burst onto the scene in 2021 with 52 punchouts in just 31 innings. The fastball is his primary weapon generating plenty of swing and miss, generally 91-93. He's got two distinct breaking balls and a changeup as well. There's some natural deception from Mosiello who presents a low release. The ball really explodes out of his hand.

ANDREW MOSIELLO
Right-Handed Pitcher Oregon
A product of Temicula, Calif., Mosiello really burst onto the scene in for the Ducks in 2021 with 52 punchouts in just 31 innings. More impressively, he issued just eight free passes all season. Mosiello started just one game, but that figures to change in 2022. The fastball is his primary weapon generating plenty of swing and miss, generally 91-93. He's got two distinct breaking balls and a changeup as well. There's some natural deception from Mosiello who employs a unique low release. The ball really explodes out of his hand. Getting the extended innings will undoubtedly showcase Mosiello a bit to big league scouts. If the stuff continues to tick up and the opposing whiffs persist, he’s a name to watch toward the top of the 2022 draft.
2021 Oregon stat line - 24-apps, 1-start, 3-1, 4.13, 39.1-IP, 52-K, 8-BB

This is the first ink I have received on Mosiello.
It's far to early to place him on my board, but I assume he will become a weekend starter for the Ducks this season and we will keep an eye on him.

Zachary Maxwell, RHP, Georgia Tech -
A top recruit for Georgia Tech last year, Zachary Maxwell started as a true freshman in 2020 before being moved to the pen this spring. Maxwell is a flamethrower with some command issues, but he’s clearly got swing and miss stuff to go with his triple digit fastball. In 32 innings this spring, he struck out 56, but walked 41. He went to the Cape and struggled with his command throwing 11 2/3 innings there with an eye opening 25 strikeouts to nine walks for a 19.3 K/9. The stuff is there, he just has to harness it.
2021 GT stat line - 24-appearances, 2-2, 3.09, 32-IP, 56-K, 41-BB (!)
Mack's spin -
Serious velo but has trouble hitting the barn.
Things needs to get better here for him to become a weekend starter.

31 Jayson Jones
3B
Braswell
Savannah, GA One of the most physical frames in the class, Jones already really destroys the baseball. On the data side of things, Jones in an absolute monster. It's among the most outlandish barrel speed-hand speed combinations we've ever seen since Diamond Kinetics and K-Vest worked their way into amateur baseball. Not only does he have the most ferocious physical traits in the box, but he outshines just about any other prep players we've seen in the last few years. This is one of the most imposing high school bats in the 2022 class. Despite his bigger size, Jones displays excellent body control and balance on the dirt with a loose, whippy arm action that projects to play on the infield long-term. Jones is particularly impressive coming in on the baseball. But the bat is seriously a thunderous bat speed and enormous strength, especially to his pull-side. Super advanced hitter. Legitimate plus-plus raw power. The bat should carry the whole profile. 8-5-21 - Prospects Live
Jayson Jones
There’s really only one word to describe Jayson Jones’ week in St. Pete. Loud. The Arkansas commit strung together in my opinion the best overall week of any player at PG National. It started in workouts where Jones showed there’s a real chance he will stick on the left side of the dirt after a really effortless infield round and threw 93 MPH across the diamond. He’s got a very physical frame at 6’2”, 200 lb and also showed above-average speed with a 6.59 60 as well. At the plate, Jones uses a crouched load as a right handed hitter with a very quiet swing that shows limited holes through the zone. Add in that Jones presents the best bat speed in the entire class, and you get a profile at the plate with elite level projection. There have been people much smarter than me who have claimed Jones could have the highest ceiling of any prep in the class, and you won’t find me trying to argue that.
Mack's spin -
My 6th third baseman... probably 3rd or 4th round.
