Hall was chosen as the 29th pick in the 2009 draft. He was the first signee to report and play in a Mets game this year.

Two members of the East Central Community College baseball team have signed national letters-of-intent to continue their careers at Mississippi Valley State University in Itta Bena, according to ECCC head baseball coach Neal Holliman. ZeErika Hall, a 6-foot, 185-pound outfielder from Carthage and Kylie Ming, a 5-8, 185-pound infielder/catcher of Louisville, will join Doug Shanks’ Delta Devils’ squad for the 2009-10 campaign. “ZeErika played in 32 games as a freshman and possesses some high qualities both on and off the field,” said the third-year ECCC head coach. “He is looked upon to be an everyday player for us in the spring. He possesses great speed and continues to improve in all areas as a player.”

“The 21-year-old Hall has walked a lot, 17 times in his first 99 AB, but he also owns 25 strikeouts. Hall, who the Mets drafted in the 29th round out of East Central (Miss) Community College, led Diamond Warriors in doubles (21) and stolen bases (22). He claims that the Mets are his favorite team.”

ZeEricka Hall (Carthage, Ms.) got the news during the middle of the Big Trains game in Waleska, Ga. against the Winward Ringers Wednesday late afternoon during the 5th Inning as the call came to his cell phone, Hall immediately broke out in a huge smile. Hall a sophomore OF, 5' 11" 185 from East Central Community College (Decatur, Ms.) was drafted number 884 overall in round number 29. The sophomore outfielder will forgo his commitment to Mississippi Valley State University.

Hall played consistently well all season for the GCL Mets and finished the season:

.297/.418/.378/.796, 21-BB, 25-K, 5-SB. He was ranked 4th in the league in on-base percentage.

Forecast: Playing rookie ball can get pretty crowded in the dugout and Hall had to share right field with fellow draft picks Chase Greene and Kurt Steinhauer. That being said, he faired better than both and could have earned himself a move directly to Savannah next spring.
