Jason Marquis, Shawn Teufel, WS Prediction, Toughest Field to hit HRs... and Octavio Dotel

Jason Marquis:

In a bit of coincidence, Perez's spring debut turned out to be a matchup of what might have been against what is, the former being Staten Island's Jason Marquis, who all but campaigned outside the Mets offices over the winter shouting through a megaphone, "Sign me! Sign me!"  Marquis has averaged 13 wins and 200 innings over the last six seasons, but the Mets ignored him, along with every other free agent starter once John Lackey and Randy Wolf came off the board, preferring to gamble that Perez and John Maine will both come back strong from the injuries that limited them to a combined 147-1/3 innings last year. -  link

Shawn Teufel:

Allan Simpson/Perfect Game USA ranked the top college 2010 seniors in college baseball and coming in at #61 was 6-3 LHP Shawn Teufel, son of Mets B-Mets manager Tim Teufel. I’ve seem Shawn throw and, frankly, he was quite impressive a couple of years ago. Wonder who will draft him?

World Series Prediction:  -

The Positive - Last season is over and by all logic, there is no way the Mets can have that many injuries again. You added Jason Bay to the outfield along with Rod Barrajas to the catcher position; upgrades at both positions.  You added Kiko Calero and Kelvim Escobar to the bullpen to go along with Pedro Felicianno and Francisco Rodriguez. You still have Johan Santana.

Best Supporting Actor - Jose Reyes

The only reliable Mets right now are David Wright, Santana, and Bay. Reyes has to become a part of that list or the Mets have no chance. -  link

Toughest Field To Hit HRs:

#2 – Citi Field - Citi Field became notorious for its lack of home runs last season. Tall walls, a significant cut out in the right-center field power alley, and a deep center field limited home run totals in the park's debut season to 1.60 per game.

The Mets have since decided to lower the wall in center field in hopes of sparking some offense. We shall see. -  link

Octavio Dotel:

Octavio Dotel (oblique) threw successfully off a mound Tuesday.

Dotel, who had been sidelined for close to two weeks with a strained oblique muscle, launched 30 pitches and reported no immediate pain or discomfort. The 36-year-old had a 3.55 ERA and 11.6 K/9 in 134 appearances over the last two seasons with the White Sox and is expected to close this season for Pittsburgh. He's safe to draft in all mixed leagues - link
