TODAY’S GAME: Tonight, the Buffalo Bisons take on the Gwinnett Braves in the third game of a four-game series at Coolray Field (7:05 p.m.) The Herd snapped a three-game losing streak last night with a 6-3 victory. After this four-game series, the Bisons will travel to Charlotte for a four-game series starting Friday June 25.

vs. BRAVES: The Bisons and Braves have split the first two games of this four-game series. That’s nothing new for the two clubs, as they also split each four-game set, 2-2, last season in Gwinnett’s debut year.

NEW BLOOD: RHP RAMON ORTIZ has been signed by the New York Mets to a minor league contract and will start tonight for the Herd in Gwinnett. The 37-year old righty has had a ten-year big league career that includes an 85-82 record with a 4.93 ERA, four ten-win seasons and the 2002 World Series Championship with the Angels. Ortiz made the Dodgers Opening Day roster this season and was 102 with a 6.30ERA in 16 games before being released.
