TODAY’S GAME: Tonight, the Buffalo Bisons face the Charlotte Knights in the second game of a four-game series at Knights Stadium (7:15 p.m.). The Herd fell in the series opener, 5-2, last night. The Bisons are now 2-3 on an eight-game roadtrip that began with a four-game split in Gwinnett. Following Monday’s game, the Bisons will return home for a five-game homestand against the Syracuse Chiefs and the Rochester Red Wings.

vs. KNIGHTS: The Bisons are 3-2 against the Knights this season. Buffalo won three of four from Charlotte at Coca-Cola Field, May 18-21. However, the Bisons have won just one series at Knights Stadium in the last 11 seasons (seven splits, three series defeats). The Herd won three of four games in Charlotte during the 2005 season.

OF JORGE PADILLA has been a nice addition to the Bisons lineup. Acquired in a trade with Toronto on June 19, the outfielder has averaged .296 (8-27) with two home runs in his first seven games with the Bisons. In his last four contests, Padilla has scored four times and driven in five runs. Padilla hit .330 (61-185) in 50 games with Triple-A Las Vegas to begin the 2010 season.

RHP JOSE DE LA TORRE struck out all three batters he faced last night. The reliever has made four consecutive scoreless appearances out of the Bisons bullpen, with five punchouts in his last 3.2 innings of work. On the season, De La Torre has 18 strikeouts in 18.0 innings of work.
