Beltran To Have MRI

As he led off first base, moments removed from reaching on an error in the fourth inning, Carlos Beltran felt a twinge of pain in his right knee. The joint had not felt discomfort up to that point, he would insist later, after he had been removed from tonight’s Mets victory.

The pain left Beltran’s knee, which underwent major surgery to remove bone spurs in January, when he took the field in the bottom of the fifth. But still, he told trainer Ray Ramirez about it. He was pulled from the game once the inning ended and he will undergo an MRI at the Hospital for Special Surgery on Wednesday morning.
