David Wright Stress Fracture - Options at 3B

Boy... where's Shawn Bowman now that you need him.

As of now, David Wright's diagnosed lower back stree fracture will put him on the sideline for the next ten days. There will be a second opinion and, in most cases, this kind of injury will not need surgery; however, there's a good chance he will be lost until at least the all-star break.

Your third base options become more limited as long as Daniel Murphy is playing 1B.

I know the Mets are playing Willie Harris tonight at third, but I'd be much happier with Murphy there and Lucas Duda playing first... however, Duda is on the same DL as Ike Davis.

Geez...

One option is Alan Dykstra at first base. No, he's not ready, but who is under these circumstances?

My plan would be:

Tuesday:  1B Nick Evans, 3B Daniel Murphy, CF Jason Bay, RF Carlos Beltran, LF Fernando Martinez

(Remember... the team is currently tied for 5th in the wild card race, based on # of loses)
