The Hunt For A Mets LHHOFer

The Mets are "diligently monitoring" the market for left-handed-hitting outfielders such as Johnny Damon, Kosuke Fukudome, Rick Ankiel, Raul Ibanez and Juan Pierre, according to Jerry Crasnick of ESPN.com. Crasnick adds that the surplus of players who fit that bill affords the cash-strapped Mets with some much-needed negotiating leverage

based on the past 8 signings...

it has to be someone we've never heard of since they were drafted 6-8 years ago

lol,

I think they need the player to be able to leadoff and that leave Damon and Fukudome.

Pierre was signed by the Phillies via minor league contract today.

I think a rick ankiel would be the best option personally since he plays a terrific defensive outfield specifically center field after torres we really don't have much, bat lefty and in blowouts could probly throw an inning or 2 for us to save the bullpen. I like him as a late game defensive sub.

well, we know Ankiel has a great arm, but he has had trouble finding the catcher
