Right now, there is no reason to pitch to David Wright.

Adam Rubin

Mets had a prearranged deal to draft Jay Bruce and sign him immediately in 2005 draft if Mike Pelfrey had been selected.

AAA-Buffalo:

It didn’t take Buffalo long to hit up on prospect pitcher Julio Teheran (86 pitches in 2.2 innings)…

QS for Chris Schwinden… 6.0-IP, 6-H, 2-ER, 4-K, 2-BB, 2.54… Elvin Ramirez follows… 1.1 more scoreless innings…

AA-Binghamton:

RP Kevin Mulvey to DL with groin pull…

The Mets need to take a serious look at replacing 2B Reese Havens for the season. I’ve been a big fan of his since the draft and we all have lived through the injuries, but he’s now healthy and unproductive in a big way. He’s 2-34 (.059) in his last ten games! To some degree, he’s blocking Robbie Shields, Wilfredo Tovar, and the conversion of Danny Muno to second. He’s long past qualifying as a prospect and, frankly, just how much time is the Mets suppose to give this kid? Have someone run into him, put him back on the DL where’s he’s comfortable, and play ball.

Complimenst of Brian Jorna/Mets360, here’s the rule regarding Jenrry Mejia’s ‘option’ issue:

EXCEPTION: Contracts of Major League players who, prior to commencement of the current season, have been credited with less than five seasons in the Major and Minor Leagues (excluding service on the Military, Disqualified, Restricted, Voluntarily Retired and Ineligible Lists) shall be eligible for a fourth optional assignment, without waivers, during that season. For purposes of this Rule 11(c), 90 days or more on the Active List during a championship season shall constitute a "season of service." While time spent on any Inactive List shall not be counted toward the 90 days required before a season's service is credited, if a player is placed on the Disabled List after the player has been credited with 60 or more days of service in any particular season, the Disabled List time shall be counted to the player's credit."

Robert “I’m Destined To Over-Tweet” Carson was promoted to Queens after the Mets DFA’d DJ Carrasco. This is Robert’s second trip to Queens, though he didn’t get into a game the last time. I can’t support this (like anyone fucking cares…) move because, frankly, Carson hasn’t earned it. I know the Mets need another lefty in the pen, but why not Justin Hampson who, after 14-appearances in AAA is 2.65, 1.38? I just don’t agree with it. It doesn’t upset the prospect apple cart, but I still don’t like it.

Trenton scored two runs in the first so Binghamton went out and scored… nine… in the second… I just finished a piece that posts tomorrow at noon saying that 1B Travis Ozga should be cut. Figures he’d hit a 3-run homer tonight… nine runs and still no hits for Havens… wait… Havens out for Rylan Sandoval… here comes that phantom injury I called for… his second at bat was his 18th strikeout of the season, this one looking… he slammed his bat to the ground which almost hit the home plate umpire when it bounced… got tossed…

SP Zack Wheeler was proving he had both talent (6-Ks in 5-IP) as well as a way to do (4-BB in same amount of innings)… went 7.0, 2-ER, 8-K, 4-BB, 2.15… Eight kays makes it a QS…

3B Jefry Marte (.308) hit his second home run of the season…

A+ - St. Lucie: -

C Blake Forsythe (.222) hit his 3rd home run of the season… oh, I’m sorry… C Blake Forsythe (.234) hit his 3rd and 4th home run of the season… Blake wasn’t done… sac fly in 8th for winning run… 6-RBIs… sorry Frankie…

No QS for Cory Mazzoni… 5.0-IP, 7-H, 4-ER, 5-K, 2-BB, 3.12… that’s 2-for-2…

RP Adrian Rosario (0.89) notched his 11th save…

A – Savannah:

Augusta quick laid two runs in the first on SP Domingo Tapia… he pitched only four innings through the raindrops… 5-K, 2-BB, 3-ER, 4.25…

I just love the way Hilton Head Island’s own Brian Harrison is hitting lately… up to .248 now…

Jack Leathersich is now up to 35-Ks in 23-IP… add last year in Brooklyn and he’s “professionally” 61-Ks n 49.2-IP…

How bad is Aderlin Rodriguez (.224) year going? He was pinch hit for my someone hitting .085…

We may see a demotion to Brooklyn in Aderlin's future....he is flat out not having a good year...

100% agree on Havens...lets see if we can package him in a trade for someone.

Hey Mack....team up for an article on prospects "deserving promotions at the end of the month?

First group of guys deserving promotions....

The entire St. Lucie team I mean seriously 32-8!!! Thats on pace for 128 wins in 162 game schedule....Bananas

Havens has always had a plus bat, im really surprised that hes struggling so badly right now. I hope he breaks out soon, for nothing else he increases his potential trade value to package for a starter in july.

Sad news about Bret Mitchell, I was (still am) high on him. That brooklyn rotation was looking solid on paper of course. I know they don't like to start draftees and prefer to keep them in the pen to limit their innings.

On the Carson thing, it was strictly a 40 man roster thing and they need to keep a spot open for chris young. Talent wise, Carson has it, he's just not the guy next in line in my opinion.

I think the minor league promotion candidates is a great idea, look forward to reading it.

Great minds work the same...

The site just automatically posted my thoughts on promotions due... and, there aren't that many. Yes, lots of players are playing well, but they have a lot more to learn at their respective level and some are blocked

Havens is totally untradable. An often injured marginal defensive infielder who now has lost his bat.

It will be interesting to see if his anger and being thwon out of the game last night lighs a spark.

Right now, he's as lost as the other first round pick that year, Ike Davis.

I will talk to Mitchell tomorrow and let you know how the operation went.

I don't agree on Carson.

We all though he had velo but all it is is his heavy delivery. It looks like the ball is coming out of his hand faster than it is becasue his delivery mirrors someone trying the stuff the ball down your throat. In the end it;s low 90s at best with very little sink
