TODAY’S GAME: This afternoon, the Buffalo Bisons take on the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees in the final game of a four-game series at Coca-Cola Field (1:05 p.m.). With two wins to only one defeat, the Herd can pick up a series win with one move victory today. Buffalo is 6-5 after the first 11 games of their historic 16-game homestretch that began on May 15.

HOME RETURN: The Bisons will be back being the home team at Coca-Cola Field tomorrow with the first game of a four-game set against Columbus. The Yankees still have two more “home games” in Buffalo, NY as they will host the Bisons again August 20-21.

vs. YANKEES: The Bisons are 3-3 against the Yankees this season. Scranton/Wilkes-Barre picked up a 2-1 series win in Buffalo’s first home series of the season, April 11-13. With a win today, the Herd can collect a series win. INF OMAR QUINTANILLA has hit .429 (9-21) with five RBI against the Yanks.

SCHWINDEN: RHPCHRIS SCHWINDEN is tied with former teammate Jeremy Hefner for the 8th-best ERA in the IL at 2.72. Schwinden has not yielded more than three earned runs in any of his eight previous starts this season. In his last outing, the righty allowed two earned in four innings of a loss to Indianapolis on May 22.

SILKY: INFJOSH SATIN had another hit and a walk yesterday to continue his amazing stretch of getting on base. In his last eight games, Satin has reached safely 23 times with 10 hits and 13 walks. Satin’s .622 on-base percentage since May 18 is almost 100 points higher than any other hitter in the IL. The next closest is teammate OF COREY WIMBERLY with a .525 on-base pct.

OH JENRRY: RHPJENRRY MEJIA has rejoined the Bisons. The righty had Tommy John surgery on May 16, 2011 after going 1-2 with a 2.86ERA in five starts for the Herd. Mejia is scheduled to start on Thursday.

VOTE VALE: OFVALENTINO PASCUCCI was a perfect 3-3 with a walk and an RBI yesterday. The slugger has 36RBI on the season, tied for the 3rd most in the IL. Pascucci is also tied for 4th in the league with 11 home runs and 8th with a .524 slugging percentage.

METS UPDATE: The Mets’ (26-21) shutout the Padres, 9-0, on Saturday. Former Bisons CMIKE NICKEAS hit a grand slam and LHP JOHAN SANTANA needed just 96 pitches to complete his masterpiece. The southpaw struck out seven and allowed just four singles. The Mets host the Padres is today at 1:10 p.m.
