Draft Notes 5-30-12 – Stryker Trahan, Daniel Bowman, Connor Glassey,

Adam Rubin:

The Mets conducted a late-day workout for prospective draft picks at Citi Field on Monday. Several Mets executives were on hand, including Paul DePodesta. The list of amateurs working out included Ole Miss signee Stryker Trahan, he tweeted. Trahan, from Lafayette, La., is considered the top catching prospect out of high school.

Daniel Bowman

Daniel Bowman, RF, Coastal Carolina, Senior - Bowman returned to Coastal Carolina following his senior season after being drafted in the 38th round last year.  Bowman has a line drive swing and makes solid contact.  He should be a doubles hitter going forward.  He has useable speed, but is not a burner.  Bowman hustles and is the type of player who coaches speak about highly.

Connor Glassey:

Better player, Tyler Naquin or Jankowski? - - - Naquin

Where do you see Daniel Robertson selected? - - - Sandwich round

Word is the Orioles are out on Lucas Giolito. Any reason why? - - - Could be price, medical or just prefer others

Could Giolito fall to the White Sox? Would they take that risk? - - - Yes. No

Do you think CJ Saylor is selected Top 5 rounds? No. Bat is light

What's your take on ss Tanner Rahier? Love his bat & energy, but probably winds up at 2B or 3B

Where do you see Marlins going this year in draft?  Would love Miami kid Albert Almora. Could also see Marcus Stroman there

Where do u see/hear royals going? - Best player available. Gausman, Zunino or Correa.
