FLASH - Tejada to DL - Say Goodbye to 2013

SS Ruben Tejada did his teammates a bug favor last night by siding into the ground and giving the Mets the opportunity to come up with a reason to put him on the DL, rather than just send him down.

The Mets activated Omar Quintanilla from the taxi squad, where he was placed yesterday. Quint was hitting .333 for Las Vegas before the call-up and has no more options left. Thus, he would have to be DFA'd if you tried to send him back down later on in the year.

This is how the Mets lost him last year to Baltimore and visa versa at the beginning of this year.

My guess is all it's going to take Quintanilla to keep this job for the remainder of the season is around a .250 BA (hitting 8th) and some smarts in the field.
