Mack - 2019 Mets Transactions, Kudos, and Comments

Saturday, June 1st –

On a personal note… a good Mets friend of mine for well over 10 years, Nelson Figueroa, was fired from his on-air job with SNY. Reports are that he came to the job ‘in no shape’ to go on the air and demanded to be allowed to. He was immediately fired rather than be sent home for a breather.

Nelson was first released as a Mets pitcher back in the day, was demoted to a lesser on-air job last year by the Mets, and now this third strike.

I reached out to him via his cell but the messaging service he uses directed me straight to leaving him a message.

Folks, I don’t know what his demons are. He obviously is upset about how he has been treated by a team that he bled orange and blue since he pitched for them in the early 2000s.

I will continue to reach out to my friend to see if I can be an assistance to him.

Going into tonight’s game (per Ernest Dove), A+ St. Lucie’s OF Quinn Brodey’s 10-game stat line is:  .487/.545/.692/1.238

AAA-Syracuse optioned P Daniel Zamora from the Mets

AAA-Syracuse placed P Arguimedes Caminero on the restricted list

AA-Dave Roseboom has been placed on the IL.

Dave also is a good Mets friend of mine and he’s had a hard time getting out of first gear this season. Maybe the Florida sun and the instructors down there can find something wrong with his approach.

AA-Binghamton added P Andrew Church from the Low-A Brooklyn roster.

Ernest Dove will be happy that he’s getting another chance at this level.

His is also a return from a short-lived retirement. I would love to know who called who here.

Kudos –

      DSL-2 catcher, Juan Loyo: 2-4. R, RBI

DSL-2 closer, Eiker Huizi: 2-IP, 0-R, 2-K, 1-Save, 0.00

Yup They’re back. A whole new group of names we can’t spell or pronounce.
As Much as I can see it, no prospects on this team but an entire first professional year starting outfield.

DSL-1 LF, and uber prospect ($1.45mil bonus in 2018) LF Freddy Valdez, hits his first DSL-1 homer in the first game of the season.

No one hits home runs in this league,
especially on the first day of the season. This is going to be fun to watch.

A+ St. Lucie RP, Andrew Mitchell: 2.1-IP, 0-R, 3-K

A-Columbia Mark Vientos: 3-4, .253

The 19-year old has now hit .268 over his last 10 games played. Sure, they could move him, but he’s in a log jam right now… Tiberi in St. Lucie, Toffey in AA, and Guillorme in AAA.

A-Columbia closer, Jose Moreno: 2-IP, 0-R, 2-K, 3rd save
