Where to start....that's a lot of money going out in terms of Bumgarner, Wood, Gregorius and Gardner. Where it's coming from, I don't know.
Smith for Straw is not a bad thought at all.
However, losing Conforto, Rosario and Stroman seems to be treading water at best. Rosario is cheaper than Gregorius and you may wind up paying more for the two pitchers desired in free agency than Stroman will command. The only one that might make sense is dealing away Boras-client Conforto off a 30-HR season but the return ought to be pretty spectacular.
I applaud the idea of replenishing the farm system but don't know if this level of wheeling and dealing is the best way to get there.
