Dylan Lesko, RHP, Buford HS (GA)
Lesko has a starter’s frame as well as starter traits, including a vibe for the strike zone and three distinct pitches (fastball, changeup, and sweeping slider). He likewise has an extremely quick arm which has enabled him to produce upper-90s velocity. Lesko is committed and loyal to Vanderbilt.
Mack’s spin -
I really like this kid.
I now have him coming off my board as my 3rd RHP, right behind Kumar Rocker and Bryce Osmond.

21. Cayden Wallace
Outfield, Arkansas
Another big-time 2020 prep prospect, Wallace elected to forego pro ball and head to Fayetteville. Wallace has plus raw power and an above average arm that will shifted from third base to the outfield in college. A lineup anchor for the Razorbacks, Wallace is at least an average hitter, likely a tick better with middle-of-the-lineup thump. He's an average runner who figures to fit into a corner role where his arm will play nicely.
Mack’s spin -
Frankly, I don’t have much on this guy right now.
For now, I put him on my OF board at 17th.

11. Jayson Jones
Shortstop, Braswell HS
One of the most physical frames in the class, Jones already really destroys the baseball. On the data side of things, Jones in an absolute monster. It's among the most outlandish barrel speed-hand speed combinations we've ever seen since Diamond Kinetics and K-Vest worked their way into amateur baseball. Not only does he have the most ferocious physical traits in the box, but he outshines just about any other prep players we've seen in the last few years. This is one of the most imposing high school bats in the 2022 class. Despite his bigger size, Jones displays excellent body control and balance on the dirt with a loose, whippy arm action that projects to play on the infield long-term. Jones is particularly impressive coming in on the baseball. But the bat is seriously a thunderous bat speed and enormous strength, especially to his pull-side. Super advanced hitter. Legitimate plus-plus raw power. The bat should carry the whole profile.
Mack’s spin -
I don’t have him at short.
Instead, I have him 3rd on my 3B board.

Druw Jones, OF, Wesleyan High School (Ga.)
Son of former MLB great Andruw Jones, Druw Jones, has a very loud swing and is likely going to be selected in the first round of the 2022 MLB Draft. If the Tigers have a chance to scoop up Jones, wherever they end up picking, it would be a stellar addition to the team.
Druw Jones takes after his father with a similar swing. He keeps the knees bent and hands high; with a big leg kick, the hands move back and then explode through the baseball. The hit-tool is present and quite loud.
Mack’s spin -
I anticipate writing a lot about Jones during the mock season.
For now… still the 2nd OF, just ahead of “newcomer” Jud Fabian.

High school OF Elijah Green is widely projected as the top prospect in the class as of now.
Green, a football star as well, looks to be pursuing the baseball path as a pro and he will be coveted. He’s the most exciting high school outfielder since Angels prospect Jo Adell with expectations that he could be a plus hitter and defender with raw power. Green has some speed and a tremendous outfield arm too. He’s a five-tool player if we’ve ever seen one.
Again, don’t expect him to be a Ranger at this current juncture, but he’s worth watching from a talent standpoint alone. Texas could use some high ceiling outfielders in their system, though, and Green fits that mold.
Mack’s spin -
Another kid we will be writing a lot about this kid during the months leading up to the 2022. He would have to have a horrible season to not go 1.1 in this one.

If the Mets are going to fall out of the race, let’s lose like heck so we can draft high…as long as we, uhh, sign them.
Mack, question:
Assuming that you knew Kumar was injured, who would have been your pick out of all the remaining players?
Who would you have taken if not Kumar?
Jimmy
Mack I would assume (dangerous word) we will do a QO to Baez so that's 2 additional picks in the draft. If that's the case any idea where our three would be slotted approximately?
Sometimes I too would have played this way.
Jimmy
I will stick with my original pick.
Miss. State RHP Will Bednar

I think the Mets will sign Baez long term, but if they go the QO route, my guess our.picks would be in the 11th, 20th, and 35th range
Baez was traded in season and the Mets will receive no draft pick compensation if he does not resign.
Not Jimmy
