Peyton Cade Prescott is a right-handed pitcher and infielder currently playing college baseball for Florida State University (FSU).

Born: May 14, 2004, in Vero Beach, Florida.

Height/Weight: 6'0", approximately 190-200 lbs.

High School: Attended TNXL Academy in Altamonte Springs, Florida.

College Career

Jacksonville University (2024 - Freshman Year

)Prescott played his freshman season at Jacksonville University, where he was a two-way player (pitcher and infielder).

Pitching Stats: Appeared in 16 games, starting 6, with a 6.02 ERA over 55.1 innings. Recorded a 5-6 win-loss record, allowing 62 hits, 22 walks, and striking out 46 batters.

Notable Performance: Earned ASUN Pitcher of the Week honors on February 16, 2024, after throwing four hitless innings with six strikeouts against Cincinnati in his college debut.

Awards: Named to the ASUN All-Freshman Team.

Hitting: Had 21 at-bats, recording four hits, including one double, for a .190 batting average.

Florida State University (2025 - Sophomore Year)

Transfer: Prescott transferred to FSU in June 2024, announced via social media, becoming the second transfer from Jacksonville University to join the Seminoles.

Role: Primarily a relief pitcher, showcasing high-velocity pitching and versatility.

Performance Highlights:

In a scrimmage on October 8, 2024, Prescott threw in the 95-96 mph range, touching 97 mph, and struck out two batters in a 1-2-3 inning with a notable splitter.

On March 22, 2025, he pitched 4.0 scoreless innings in relief, allowing two hits and striking out seven.

During the Tallahassee Regional on May 31, 2025, Prescott set the tone for FSU’s bullpen against Bethune-Cookman, throwing 2.2 innings, allowing one hit, and striking out four with fastballs reaching 98-99 mph. His performance was praised for its high velocity and effective off-speed pitches.

Injury: Unfortunately, Prescott suffered an arm injury during FSU’s Super Regional game against Oregon State in June 2025. Tommy John surgery this month and will miss the entire 2026 season.

Fastball: Consistently throws in the mid-to-high 90s, with reports of touching triple digits (up to 100 mph).

Secondary Pitches: Features a “nasty” slider and a splitter, both effective for generating strikeouts.
