Mets don't fare well at the start of a big series against the Nationals - one of the biggest series for the Mets in Seven Years.
NY Post: Nats pound Harvey as Mets open enormous series with thud. “The Mets needed a stopper, but received mediocrity. Shoddy defense and the usual lack of run support were contributing factors for the Mets, but this one was mostly on Harvey, pitching for the first time in nine days. ‘We are all excited to play and play here especially, and unfortunately I didn’t get it going early,’ Harvey said after he allowed five runs in the first three innings of the Mets’ 7-2 loss to the Nationals.”
