2025 Draft - Mets Pick 7-223 - RHRP - Cam Tilly - Auburn

Cameron "Cam" Tilly is a right-handed pitcher who played college baseball at Auburn University. Born June 27, 2004,

in Newburgh, Indiana, he stands 6-foot-2 and weighs around 207 pounds. A 2023 graduate of Castle High School, Tilly was a standout, going 11-0 with a 0.66 ERA and 118 strikeouts in 64 innings as a senior, earning Courier & Press All-Metro Player of the Year and a gold medal with the 2022 USA Baseball 18U National Team.

Rated as Indiana’s top right-handed pitcher and No. 124 overall prospect by Perfect Game, he was a top-200 prospect for the 2023 MLB Draft but went undrafted and attended Auburn.

At Auburn, Tilly, a draft-eligible sophomore in 2025, posted a 3-3 record with a 5.48 ERA over 18 appearances (six starts), striking out 58 in 46 innings.

His fastball sits 92-94 mph, touching 97

Low-80s slider, mid-80s splitter, and mid-70s curveball.

Scouts note his stuff suits a bullpen role due to below-average control, but he’s seen as a top-10 round talent.

In 2025, he started Auburn’s SEC Tournament opener against Texas A&M (May 21) and the NCAA Regional against Central Connecticut State (May 30), though he lost both starts.

His last win came May 8, 2025, pitching five innings in a 24-2 rout of South Carolina, allowing one run and striking out six.

Tilly was selected by the New York Mets in the seventh round (223rd overall) of the 2025 MLB Draft, with a slot value of $254,000. He faces a decision to sign with the Mets or return to Auburn, with a signing deadline of July 30, 2025.

Mack – Incredible high school numbers followed by a meh college career.

The strikeouts are there, but so far, little else.

Looks like another lab rat coming up.
