2025 Draft - Mets Pick 18.553 - RHP/1B - Dillon Stiltner - Trinity Christian School

Dillon Stiltner is a right-handed pitcher and two-way player from Trinity Christian School in Sharpsburg, Georgia, selected by the New York Mets in the 18th round (553rd overall) of the 2025 MLB Draft on July 14, 2025. An 18-year with a projectable 6-foot-2, 195-pound frame, Stiltner is committed to Chipola Junior College in Florida but could sign with the Mets, with a signing deadline of July 30, 2025. His draft slot value was around $150,000, typical for later rounds, with flexibility for negotiation.

High School Career

2025 at Trinity Christian: Stiltner was a standout for the Lions, posting a 1.096 OPS as a hitter, indicating strong offensive contributions alongside his pitching. Specific pitching stats (e.g., ERA, strikeouts) are not detailed in available sources, but his draft selection and scouting reports highlight his mound presence.

Recognition: Named to Team Georgia for the 2021 PBR Junior Future Games and 2022 PBR Future Games, where he showcased his pitching talent. At the 2022 event, he threw three scoreless innings, allowing one hit, one walk, and striking out three, demonstrating his potential against top competition.

Versatility: As a two-way player, he contributed at shortstop and other positions, leveraging his athleticism and bat speed.

Repertoire

Based on scouting reports from Baseball America and Prep Baseball Report, Stiltner’s pitching arsenal includes:

Fastball: Sits 90-93 mph, touching 95 mph in the 2025 spring, with consistent sinking life and occasional run. Thrown from a low three-quarters slot, it has “heavy” action, making it effective for inducing groundballs. At the 2022 PBR Future Games, it was clocked at 83-86 mph (touching 87), suggesting velocity gains as he matured.

Slider/Cutter: Low-to-mid-80s (79-80 mph in 2022, likely 82-85 mph by 2025), with tight lateral movement and developing depth. Described as a cutter in earlier reports, it’s evolving into a true slider with swing-and-miss potential, manipulated for varying shapes.

Changeup: Mid-80s (74-77 mph in 2022), with tumbling action and some swing-and-miss traits. His feel for the changeup lags behind his fastball and slider, but it shows promise as a third pitch.

His low three-quarters delivery adds deception, and his easy arm action suggests potential for further velocity increases. His command is still developing, typical for a high school arm, but his athleticism and projectable frame enhance his upside.

Scouting and Future

Stiltner’s high-waisted, athletic build and three-pitch mix make him a high-upside prospect, though his status as a prep right-hander places him in a high-risk draft demographic. Scouts project him as a potential middle reliever or back-end starter if his command improves. His two-way ability (1.096 OPS) adds intrigue, but the Mets likely drafted him for his pitching potential. If he signs, he’d likely begin in the Mets’ Florida Complex League or Low-A St. Lucie. If he opts for Chipola JC, he could re-enter the draft in 2027 as a sophomore.

        Mack –

I like the potential of this one, but I will be surprised he signs.

The bat stats caught my eye too, but I have seen this a thousand times before from high schoolers playing again shite pitchers. I am sure the Mets drafted him to be a pitcher.

        Rating – B+
