A full listing of our Top 25 Prospects is on the right hand side of our website.Without further ado....The Mack's Mets #7 organizational prospect is......

#7 OF Brandon Nimmo
Bats: L Throws: R
Height: 6' 3" Weight: 185 lb
Acquired: 2011 draft, 1st round, East High School

2012: (SS-A) .248/.372/.406, 6 HR, 40 RBI, 1 SB (16%), 46 BB, 78 K
2011: (R) .211/.318/.368, 2 HR, 4 RBI, 0 SB, 6 BB, 14 K

This will be the defining draft pick for Alderson. He reached by at least one full round to pick up Nimmo, who's school didn't even have a baseball team, based solely on projection. Nimmo has an excellent eye, great gap to gap power, and enough speed to play CF. Although it's still early in his development, there's a chance he could be a 5 tool player if he can translate his speed into stolen bases. His rawness has shown thru his hesistance to be aggressive both on the basepaths and at the plate. Despite drawing plenty of walks, he also lets a lot of good pitches go by thus turning in K's. When he does swing the bat though he hits it hard creating an Isolated Power rate of .263. They'll keep him going at a slow rate as he'll play this season at age 20

Anticipated Assignment: (A) Savannah starting CF

We will find out what the Mets have here in 2013.

I look forward to watching him in person throughout the season.

Hopefully Nimmo comes out strong has a crazy good year. By spring training next year he can be at AA, eyeing Queens for 2015.

If all the prospects in the system. He's the one I'm most interested in. If he becomes a great all star caliber center fielder, it wouldn't surprise me. If he maxes out as a AAAA player, that wouldn't shock me either. That's why he's the most intriguing guy to me.

He has the tools to be great. I think what he showed as the season progressed in Brooklyn last year was great. Too many fans look at a low average and high K rate and dismiss his season and him as busts. I remember Ike blasting ZERO homers for the Cyclones. This kid who didn't even have a high school team and never played college ball hit 6, while showing great extra base power.

I really hope he gets into a groove early in spring training this year. I really believe that a great showing in Savanah will solidify his status as the Mets best position prospect.
