Mets Minor League Report – May 3

Kannapolis (10-16) @ Savannah (17-9) suspended (rain) after 3 innings.

In 3.0 innings Steven Matz allowed 1 earned run on 2 hits and a walk, with 4 strikeouts.

Ft. Myers (23-4) blanks St Lucie (16-11) 6-0

Starter Noah Syndergaard (L, 1-1) allowed only 1 earned run on 8 hits and 2 walks, striking out 5 in 6.0 innings, but was tagged with the loss. The main damage was done after Synders left.

Pedro Feliciano, in relief of Syndergaard, gave up 3 runs (only 1 earned) on 2 hits, in 0.2 innings. These were the first runs Perpetual Pedro has allowed in his 5 outings thus far this season. Feliciano was followed by Chase Bradford, who, in 0.1 innings, allowed 2 more runs on 3 hits and a walk. Bringing up the rear was Wanel Mesa, who pitched a scoreless, hitless 9^th, allowing only 1 walk.

When there is no offense, there can be no offensive highlights.

Harrisburg (14-14) tops Binghamton (14-14) 3-1

Cesar Puello (1-4) accounted for the B-Mets only run of the game with a HR.

Wilfredo Tovar went 2-3, while Danny Muno was 1-1 with a double. Francisco Pena kept his AVG. at an even .300, going 1-2 with 2 BBs.

Starter Jacob deGrom gave up all 3 Harrisburg runs, on 7 hits and 2 walks, with 1 strikeout, in his 6.0 innings.

Chase Hutchingson  and Jack Leathersich then proceeded to pitch a perfect inning each, striking out 5 of the 6 batters they faced. Leathersich looked like the Leathersich of old in striking out the side in the 9^th.

At this writing, Las Vegas (13-13) trails Sacramento (15-13) 2-0, after 6 innings.

Catcher Juan Centeno has the 51’s only hit so far.

Chris Schwinden was lit up for both of the Tomato Juice runs, allowing 8 hits and 1 walk with 5 strikeouts, in 5 + innings.

Justin Hampson came in after a homer and a single in the bottom of the 6^th, and got 3 quick outs.
