Savannah (18-9) smokes Hickory (16-12) 9-2.
Rainy Lara (W, 4-1) once again excelled. In 7.0 innings he allowed 1 unearned run on 4 hits and a walk, with 6 strikeouts. In his 5 starts to date, Lara’s ERA is 1.45, with a 0.94 WHIP, 1.16 BB/9 and 8.71 K/9.
Hunter Carnivale pitched the final 2.0 innings, giving up 1 (earned) run on 2 hits, no walks, with 3 Ks.
Kevin Plawecki was the offensive standout again. The one-man wrecking crew went 3-5 with a double and a home run, (his 5th) 4 RBI and 1 R. He now leads the Sally League in AVG, (.416) OBP, (.470) and SLG, (.733) giving him a league leading OPS of 1.202, a whopping 134 points higher than his nearest competitor.
St Lucie (17-11) scorched first place Ft. Myers (23-5) 10-5
Starter Robert Gsellman (W, 1-0) went 5.0 innings for the win. If his stat line was a poker hand, he’d be a winner too: 3 R, 3 ER, 3 H, 3 BB, 3 K. Coincidentally, his ERA is now . . . you guessed it, 3.0.
Hamilton Bennett followed Gsellman with 2.0 scoreless innings, allowing only 2 hits with 2 strikeouts.
Aderlin Rodriguez busted out, going 3-5 with a double and a homer, 4 RBI and 1 R.
Dustin Lawley was 2-4 with 2 doubles and 2 RBI.
Travis Taijeron: 1-4, HR, BB, RBI, 2 R.
T.J. Rivera: 1-4, BB, 3 R.
Robbie Shields: 2-5, 2B, 2 R.
Binghamton (15-14) spanks Harrisburg (14-15) 8-2
Starter Eric Goeddel (W, 2-2) got the win with 6.0 well pitched innings. He allowed 2 earned runs on 3 hits and 3 walks, with 5 strikeouts.
Adam Kolarek, Josh Edgin and Jeff Walters then each proceeded to pitch identical perfect innings, with 1 strikeout. (Well, technically, they were not identical, since Kolarek and Edgin each got 2 groundouts and a strikeout, while Walters got a pop up, a fly out and a strikeout.)
Darrell Ceciliani led the B-Mets attack, going 3-4 with a HR, SB, 3 RBI and 3 R.
Richard Lucas was close behind, going 3-5 with a double and 2 RBI.
At this writing, Las Vegas (13-14) trails Sacramento (16-13) 8-7, after 6 innings.
Starter D.J. Mitchell allowed 7 first inning runs, (3 earned) 4 hits and 3 walks, striking out 5 in 4.0 innings. Dylan Owen gave up a 6th inning home run for the River Cats 8th run.
Justin Hampson came in after a homer and a single in the bottom of the 6th, and got 3 quick outs.
Thus far, offensively, Wilmer Flores is 2-4 with a double, 3 RBI and 1 R.

Josh Satin: 2-4, 2B, RBI, 2 R.
