If he is still on the board... LHP Garrett Crochet

I favor Crochet too.

Although the team will be thin on pitching going forward, they're always thin on offense. I would opt for Heston Kjerstad for the outfield as the entire minor league system is pretty barren in that spot.

High-90s fastball, wipeout slider, 6-8, LHP, I'd like them to get Luke Little, San Jacinto (Texas) College but he probably won't be there at 19.

John, wasn’t Luke Little the 105 MPH guy?

Mack Ade said...

Tom

Yes he was

If we draft Crochet, that would make for a good yarn!
Sorry- couldn’t resist.
We need OF, C and SP. Would prefer a great OF bat unless a great arm somehow falls to us...

And Giants draft ANOTHER Catcher first?? Posey, Bart and now a third? WTF! Does it mean Mr Z is trading Bart? Cause if he trades Posey someone in SF might kill him.

The other top catching prospect is still on the board. Hmmm...

On another subject- Former Mets and Nationals outfielder Matt den Dekker has been named to the coaching staff at Charleston Southern University, the school announced today. He’ll work with the Buccaneers’ hitters and outfielders.

Soderstrom!!!!!!

Cubs getting Ed Howard was a stretch and obviously a $$ issue. 2 stretches so far. Some great player may fall to us after all!

David Rubin said...

I will take Soderstrom Armstrong or Dingler please!!🙏🏻🙏🏻

Crochet is gone in double digits rounds. My pick, Kjerstad, who was slated to go about round 11 or 12 by most prognosticators actually went number 2.

4 teams have drafted for $$ savings. Let’s hope we will not!

Red Sox drafting now need pitching badly.... Leaving both Mitchell and Armstrong-Crow on the board with the Mets picking in two picks.

David Rubin said...

HERE WE GO!!!

TexasGusCC said...

I want Mitchell.

David Rubin said...

Luke Little is still there
I want Soderstrom Armstrong or Dingler please!!!!

David Rubin said...

Mitchell is okay too

TexasGusCC said...

It's Armstrong-Crow. Now start hitting the pitchers.

Tom Brennan said...

What does everyone think of this guy?

David Rubin said...

Armstrong is a great kid from a great program and reminds me of a better fielding but less powerful Kelenoc

David Rubin said...

Kelenic
Sorry

TexasGusCC said...

David, Kelenic was a toothpick when he was drafted.

David Rubin said...

He’s a pure center fielder - something we have NONE of.

TexasGusCC said...

Mitchell was the next pick. Interesting. Good night guys, see you tomorrow.

David Rubin said...

I remember, TexasGus- but he had more power projection than Armstrong does. But Armstrong is a superb fielder with amazing speed and is a good hitter from a great family and a GREAT program in Harvard-Westlake.

David Rubin said...

Remember folks- you can’t teach SPEED!!

Mack Ade said...

He is the best defensive center fielder in the draft.

A fine selection although I preferred Mitchell who seems like more complete player with quicker path to majors.
