Bisons Activate Outfielders Bell, Botts from DLMets Recall Tejada, Baxter from Bisons
August 8, 2011 –The Buffalo Bisons today announced that OF BUBBA BELL and OF JASON BOTTS have been activated off the team’s disabled list. The Mets announced earlier today that INF RUBEN TEJADA and OF MIKE BAXTER have been recalled to New York from the Bisons roster. Botts, who has missed eight games with a left ankle sprain, has hit .259 (43-166) with 10 doubles, two triples, three home runs and 19RBI in 58 games with the Bisons. He has also drawn 31 walks for a .374 on-base percentage. Bell, who has been sidelined for 12 games with a left shin contusion, has hit .235 (32-136) with nine doubles, a home run, 14RBI and a team-high seven stolen bases in 52 games since being acquired in a trade with the Cleveland Indians on May 13. Baxter played in 11 games with the Bisons and hit .256 (10-39) with a home run and five RBI. Tejada makes his second trip to New York this season. In 54 total games with the Bisons, the infielder has averaged .246 (51-207) with three home runs and 21RBI.
